One Organization Cannot Feed a Nation Alone

Nigeria’s food insecurity crisis is too large, too complex, and too geographically dispersed for any single organization to solve alone. With over 82 million Nigerians food insecure and hunger concentrated in communities that are often far from major food relief hubs, the most powerful response is not one organization doing more but many organizations working together, sharing
resources, coordinating distributions, and amplifying each other’s reach.

What FBNN Does
FBNN serves as the coordination and capacity-building backbone of Nigeria’s food relief ecosystem. Through the network, partner NGOs gain access to food grants and donations that directly support their community distributions; a dedicated WhatsApp communication channel for real-time updates and alerts; training and resources to strengthen their own food relief operations; and visibility through LFBI’s national and international communications platforms. For communities in states where LFBI does not yet have a direct operational presence, FBNN partner NGOs serve as the primary distribution arm extending the network’s reach far beyond what any single organization could achieve independently.

The Network’s Impact
Across the FBNN network’s operational reach, communities in over 170 locations have been touched by coordinated food relief efforts. The network’s WhatsApp channel has been successfully launched, providing partner NGOs with a reliable, instant communication platform. Fundraising for food distribution is underway, with FBNN’s official account number released to
enable donor contributions to be directed directly to community distributions.

FBNN’s vision is a nationally coordinated food relief system where no Nigerian community lacks access to at least one partner organisation capable of delivering support. With 150+ organizations already in the network and an ambitious expansion roadmap targeting new states each quarter, that vision is becoming reality, one partnership at a time.
